hours, 30 minutes, Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St. MAP Five unmarried sisters make the most of their simple existence in rural Ireland in the 1930s. "Dancing at Lughnasa" by Brian Friel, one of Ireland's most important playwrights, was first performed at the Abbey Theater in Dublin in 1990 and garnered the prestigious Olivier Award in 1991. In 1998, "Dancing at Lughnasa" was adapted to the screen in a film directed by Pat O'Connor and starring Meryl Streep. North Central College’s award-winning theatre programs showcase musical and nonmusical performances, actor showcases, one-act plays and dance in the College’s four theatre venues. Under the direction of faculty who are also actors from stages in New York and Chicago, student performances are on par with professional artists. |

| Construction is moving forward on the state-of-the-art fine arts facility. Upon completion North Central College and Naperville will be home to the premier fine arts complex in the Midwest. Special features of this 57,000 square-foot building include a 605-seat concert hall with exceptional acoustics, a black box experimental theatre seating 150 people, an art gallery and other music program-related space. | |||
